Back in Iceland

I'm back :)
I left Seattle about 10 days ago, flew over to London and got on a bus to Birmingham, where my súperdrusl met me and showed me around Brum. It was so much fun seeing her again, haven't seen her since she came to visit Seattle a year ago. We did plenty of stuff to entertain ourselves in Brum (seems that shopping was a teeny tiny part of it!) and then we rented a car and drove down to Bath and Stonehenge, along with endless little villages that are just too cute for their own good. We got used to driving on the wrong side of the road rather quickly, at least we returned the car in one piece.. just a little trouble with staying inside the lines when one is driving..

Stonehenge was cool, for some reason I imagined the stones being a lot bigger and covering a larger area, but it was cool, and well worth the 5 pound one had to pay to go and walk around them in the freezing rain..

After we got rid of the car and everything we headed to London where my mum was waiting for us, and stayed for two nights there and did some more shopping! We even made it on the London Eye, which is hard to believe since both me and mum are scared of heights. But we made it! :)

Matt's birthday was on the 27th so happy birthday hun! We did some celebrating for him, since he's somewhere in Asia, we ate lunch at a pub (jacket potatoes with cheese and a pint of lager), did some shopping (well that was more for us than him), walked around London and had italian for dinner (since thats one of Matts favorites), and even had some tiramisu for dessert - y'know because it was his birthday ;)

Me and mum then flew to Iceland with Iceland Express which was an enjoyable flight, except for the delay at the airport and the seat that wouldn't recline..

Iceland is still the same, except the nuns seem to have been trying to do a prison break and there is a big gaping hole in the wall across the street! The dog is old and tired, seems to think I came back just to serve him and demands I do stuff for him at all hours of the day. He's cute though so he gets away with it for now..

The odd thing is that I really miss Seattle. I love being able to just get up and walk outside and walk around, going to the market and just doing whatever. I miss the trees, the flowers, the mountains, the people, the coffee, the wierd polish pastries at the market, being able to buy wine even though it's after seven o'clock on a Saturday, getting lunch meat at DeLaurenti's, going to the park and peoplewatch.. I even miss the neighborhood bum :) But it'll all still be there when I get back in September :)

  • Well it is nice to see you finally updated your/our page.
You know your brief blurb about missing Seattle REALLY makes me miss the place as well.Hmmm..what to do?
**To anyone who is interested cruise is cruise and it sucks!! I eat maybe twice a day and I have lost about 8 pounds I think, haven't wieghed lately.
Other then that all of us here are looking forward to hitting port relaxing and drinking some beer.
I look forward to talking with Unnur drinking a beer while reading the newspaper while at the pub. We are planning to hang out at a Pub named "The British Bull Dog" I was there once before and it is nice because it is just a pub. Not all the HipitieHoopha dance club crap.
All of my workers are alittle pissed because we have to work all night and all day until the call "Liberty", that is when we are allowed off the boat, I told them to "Kick Rocks". They deserved it though I worked them all until thier clothes were soaking wet with swet (becauase last night they decided to do what they wanted and not let me know about it and they disappeared for 2 hours last night) So yeah, the shop is really clean ;)hehe
Welp gotta go do the Navy thing. Take care.

  • Hi Mia,
Glad you're back in Iceland. B and the kids are going back for the summer; I'm green with envy.

I miss the northwest so much. I think it's a good thing i didn't live in the city or i would be missing it even worse.
